UPCYCLING PACKAGING: MASK PROTECTIVE SLEEVE

Packaging has always posed a significant challenge for the fashion industry due to its environmental impact. At GRAYE, while we recognize that completely eliminating packaging waste is difficult, our goal is to minimize unnecessary waste and eliminate single-use plastics. Although disposable packaging is useful for hygiene and efficiency, it contributes to landfill waste and takes lifetimes to decompose. To address this, we have been using reusable ziplock bags for our pieces over the past few seasons, balancing hygiene, efficiency, and aesthetics.

During the circuit breaker, after a thorough spring cleaning of our design studio, our team came together to rethink our clothing packaging. We also considered what to do with defected or damaged plastic packaging that would otherwise go to waste. Instead of discarding these flawed packages, we decided to repurpose them into smaller reusable pouches for our masks and smaller items.

As we continue to wear masks daily, why not use these pouches to store them during your lunch or dinner breaks?

By making these small yet impactful changes, we hope to inspire others in the fashion industry to rethink their packaging practices as well. Let us know if you have other ideas on upcycling packaging!
